Blackened Salmon
Simple + Healthy
I love finding a recipe that is simple, delicious and healthy too! We like to eat fresh fish from time to time and this recipe is amazing. It is Blackened Salmon recipe I've made for years - and I originally found it in the Simply Divine cookbook which you can buy on Amazon.
The Ingredients:
- Fresh Salmon (I bought wild-caught at Aldi)
- Olive Oil
The Spice Mixture:
- 2 Tablespoons paprika
- 1 Tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ teaspoon thyme
- ¼ teaspoon basil
- ¼ teaspoon oregano

The Directions:
- Rub salmon with olive oil and sprinkle with spice mixture.
- Fry a few minutes on each side, until flaky. Then drizzle with lime or lemon juice.
Tip...
I actually used a seasoning mix I had on hand called
Magic Seasoning Blends-Blackened Redfish Magic which you can, also,
buy on Amazon.
Another tip is not to overcook the salmon!
- Use a food thermometer and remove it from the pan when it reaches 120 or 125 degrees.
- You can serve this over rice with some fresh veggies on the side and it is a simple healthy meal!

BRING JUSTICE TO THE FATHERLESS, PLEAD THE WIDOW’S CAUSE; Tete, where we visited, is a city southwest of Pemba and is far from the coast. It is known to be the hottest and driest city in Mozambique. Our son, Shaun, had been serving in Tete for nearly 7 months and we travelled over to visit him and see what God was doing in that part of Africa. He was serving with Pioneer 61, a ministry who has been loving on the poor in the mid-western part of Mozambique for 10 years already.
