BRING JUSTICE TO THE FATHERLESS, PLEAD THE WIDOW’S CAUSE; Tete, where we visited, is a city southwest of Pemba and is far from the coast. It is known to be the hottest and driest city in Mozambique. Our son, Shaun, had been serving in Tete for nearly 7 months and we travelled over to visit him and see what God was doing in that part of Africa. He was serving with Pioneer 61, a ministry who has been loving on the poor in the mid-western part of Mozambique for 10 years already.
Living in Mozambique was by far one of the most stretching, but amazing experiences I’ve ever had. We were attending the Harvest School of Missions(HS15) with Iris Ministries(now Iris Global). It was their summer season over there so think very hot and humid! In the natural, we realized that we take a lot of things for granted in the US...

Just like a photographer blurs out the background to focus on the beauty of the predominant image, so we are called to focus on the beauty of others’ hearts and not on their flaws or baggage. God is looking for strong teams! Married couples, walking in purity who are laid down lovers of Jesus.
As we sat in the open air hut in Mozambique in 2011, listening to her share, we suddenly heard loud thuds on the roof. There were rocks being hurled onto our hut's tin roof... a little scary as our base definitely had some radicals of a different faith living nearby. Heidi stopped sharing and looked at her staff. She told them to go get the people who were throwing the rocks over the wall some food because they are probably hungry. This was such a testimony to how she lives her life...
